In part inspired by the Adventure TIme Episode “Jake the Brick”, this piece began as a reinterpretation of that simple but strangely expansive idea. I was interested in tensions between order and disorder, the inanimate and the animate, using light and shadow as the main focus. In the end, it became mostly a study of light and color.
Alcohol markers, gouache, oil pastels, and colored pencils on toned mixed-media paper.
30 × 23 cm (11.8 × 9.1 in)
